Analyse 2 stanzas from the poem
1st stanza: And i had done a hellish thing,
And i would work ’em woe,
for all averred,I had killed the bird,
That made the breeze to blow,
Ah wretch!, said they, the bird to slay,
That made the breeze to blow:
In this stanza Taylor Coleridge uses old language, for example the word hellish. By using this type of old language it tells us this poem was set a long time ago. The word hellish that he used is similar to the word hell and bad, he used it to say that he knew what he had done wrong[killing the bird]. The other thing that he used in this stanza is repetition for example ‘that made the breeze to blow’. He used repetition to describe to us [the reader] that he is quoting to the crew why he had killed the albatross, which made the breeze to strike the ship and make them stuck in an area full of ice bergs which were surrounding them. Taylor Coleridge uses these type of material for us to examine and look in detail the strong language he uses, which can give us more confidence in our future writing.
2nd stanza: Down drop the breeze, the sails dropt down,
Twas sad as sad could be,
And we did speak only to break,
The silence of the sea:
In this stanza Taylor Coleridge uses a lot of language devices to make this powerful and effective. The language devices he has used in the stanza are alliteration and rhyme but also using emotions for us to know how the character feels within the scene. He used alliteration very effectively on the four words ‘Down dropt and Dropt down. This is very effective because it telling us [the reader] That the breeze is repetitively happening and that it is swiftly moving up and down. A powerful way that he has used rhyme in this stanza is for example ‘Sad as sad could be and The silence of the sea’ this makes the two sentences flow effectively together but also as the line ‘Sad as sad could be’ it gives us to think that something emotional is happening and when the line ‘The silence of the sea’ it is referring back to the line before to show that when your sad, straight away into our heads we think of the word silence when someone is sad. Another thing that Taylor Coleridge uses is good at describing a line with powerful emotions. For example ‘And we did only speak to break’ this gives us the idea that the ancient mariner was desperate to speak and something was stopping him from doing that by using the phrase speak only to break, also the emotion in this is the word break, which is showing us in a way they have broke free out of something.

The second half begins and nothing much is happening but all of a sudden Camden Town are through on goal and they shoot on goal and score to get 1 goal back in. The score is 2-1 to Kentish Town. Its a free kick for Kentish Town in a dangerous area. Arian is the one to step in. With the crowd watching, Arian shot. With the ball up in the air it swerved into the top left corner. Hours later Arians dad said to him thy son you have a game on Saturday against pro touch. When Arian found out he was very excited because if they win that game they win the league. Arian spaked
“Dad I have to do some training for the game on Saturday against Pro Touch Academy”, He replied,
“yes son you may go to training”, After Arian had finished his training he was in the correct mind-set for tomorrows game. He almost couldn’t sleep of thinking he will turn to play.
Saturday morning, Arian was very excited for the game, he thought to himself ‘Come on Arian let me do this for my kins and every one. Arian then arrived at regents park and in the table ahead of him he could see the u12 league trophy, it was a must win game. Arian was very excited because his friend Teddy was playing for Pro Touch, it was a rival between the two. Arian chuse his football boots to wear for the game. Today Arian is playing in the position or role CM. Before the game had started Arian was a bit woe but he didn’t let that take away his confidence. Beeeeppp!, and the game begins Kentish Town have the ball, Arian plays a beautiful pass to his teammate on the wing and he’s through on goal, and he finishes it calm and safely. Kentish town went crazy after the first goal, the scores are 1-0 to Kentish Town. The ball is given to pro touch and they are in a chance but Arian swipes the ball and Kentish are in for the counter attack its Arian all alone and the keeper comes up and Arian with a cheeky dink to make Kentish Town 2-0 ahead in the Important game they need to win. The whistle blew for the first half to finish.
The second half began, Pro Touch give possession of the ball to Kentish and Arian is looking to play a ball to the striker but miss kicks the ball and Pro Touch are now through on goal, and they score to make it 2-1. Arians coach was screaming wherefore come on you must do better, now they have a chance of equalising. Arian has the ball in Pro Touches half, he drives into the box and is crunched by a opposing player and it is a penalty for Kentish Town. Arian decided to take the penalty which will put them 3-1 ahead if he scores. Arian taking the penalty, shoots the ball low and hard into the bottom right corner.
“yessssss!!!!”, the team was cheering, the coach as well and even all the parents were screaming. Arian looked at his dad with a big smile on his face. The score now was 3-1, Arian needing 1 more goal to score a hat rick. Pro Touch have the ball in a dangerous area, but Arian nicks the ball and Arian is through on goal all by himself, he takes the ball away from the keeper and again dinks it over him again to make it 4-1. Arian was screaming at this point in happiness. Everyone was cheering for him. Beeeeppp!!! the Whistle blew for the game to finish. Arian shook the loon person who was always saying bad stuff about him.
“champione champione oh le o le o le”, repetitively. Arians coach said Arian stoppeth being so good in every game that we play, Arian started to laugh. The whole team got medals and then. At the end the big trophy came, Arian[the captain] took the trophy and lifted it up and the whole team started screaming. Kentish Town U12 winners of Regents Park League 2016. It was always going to be up there. Arian was going hither to this place to celebrate the victory of the league with all his teammates.
Arian finally got home, and straight away his dad had to tell him some important news. He told him that his coach just said that there was a arsenal scout watching all the games you have played. He then mentioned that that scout was really impressed of his performance so he got Arian into Arsenal academy trials. At the moment Arian heard the news he’s body was almost as if drenched with happiness. He still isn’t there yet but is very close to becoming to the professional stage of football that he has dreamt about for his whole life. Because of Arians excellent performance his coach let him keep the trophy and said to him,
“you deserve this Arian, without you we would be last, I can guarantee you that”. Arian replied,
“thank you so much for me getting to keep this amazing trophy that we have won and it will be in the history of Kentish Town.
It was the day of the trial, Arian was wit in in intelligence of his trial for his dream team the famous Arsenal FC. When he arrived at the training ground all of the Arsenal players looked at Arian and thought lets test how good he his. Arian didn’t care what they would say, all he would care is how he plays and if he gets in to the academy. At first they had to see how good they were at fitness and swift movements without the ball, and the Arsenal coach said to him well done. Arian really appreciated that saying. Second they tested how good each individual was at shooting free kicks and penalty’s. Arian thought back what his dad told him always relax and stay calm, so that’s what he followed. The Arsenal coaches were very impressed with Arians performance so far into the trial. Lastly they played a trial match, and the position Arian was playing was again CM. He whispered to himself, ‘this wont be a hellish chance for me’. All of a sudden one of the opposing teammate was saying mean stuff about Arian on how bad he is, when the coaches started saying how excellent Arian is. In the arsenal trial there were a lot of tyrannous people there.
The trial match had begun, Arian with the ball in a dangerous position has a outrageous shot on goal and it reaches on the top right corner. Arian was very happy on his amazing finished which wowed the arsenal coaches. The opposing team has the ball in a huge chance but Arian was there to the rescue to clean the ball off him. Arian then gets the ball and switches it across the play to make the winger on though on goal and he finishes it safely. The trial game had finished and the trial finished. The coaches told Arian secretly I am amazingly impressed with your overall performance today I’ve picked you for the academy but you cant tell anyone yet. Arian was absolutely happy when he heard. When Arian arrived home his parents received a letter to home. The letter said your son Arian was in the trial for arsenal today and he was one of the best out there so I have decided to put him into the Arsenal Academy, I am now going to send you a contract for Arian to sign with him joining the Academy. Arians parents were crying in happiness everyone was amazed at his effort. He then told his Kentish Town coach that got into arsenal academy and that he has signed a 4 year contract with them. His coach was outragesly amazed in him. That was the story of ARIAN JAKUPI

The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Part The Seventh
Ancient mariner new it was god who was talking to him, and made all of this happiness happen recently. He kneels down and prays. The Hermit said the planks looked warped, and he could see those sails, Ancient mariners boat was all old and dusty. The hermit was almost as if shocked on how disgusting the ship was. Brown skeletons of leaves that lag the forest brook along. The pilot was scared on how the ship looked, and still they dragged ancient mariner to safety. The boat came closer to the ship and he didn’t stir or drive the boat, then the boat came close underneath the ship, and then straight in a swift movement a sound was heard. Under the water it kept rumbling repetitively, it was louder than thunder. Then suddenly it reached the ship, and split the bay, the ship then went down like lead. he was stunned by the loud thunder and dreadful sound, his body lay afloat, But swift as dreams, he found himself in the pilots boat. Upon the whirl were sank the ship, the boat spun round and round.
The boat had reached some land, and ancient mariner fell down in a fit, the holy hermit then raised him from the ground up, and prayed where he dreamt. And now all in his own country, he stood firmly on the ground like a king. The hermit stepped forth from the boat, and scarcely he could stand as well. Forthwith this frame of his that was wrenched, with a woeful agony, which forced him to begin his tale and then it left him to freedom. Since then, at an uncertain hour the agony returns to him, and until his ghostly tale is told, his heart within him burns. He passes like night, land to land, and with a strange power of speech he knows the man that hears him, and to him he will teach his tale.
What loud uproar that bursts through the door, the wedding guests are there, but in the garden bower the bride and bride mains singing and hark the little vesper bell, which biddeth ancient mariner to the prayer. The wedding guest with a soul that has been alone in a long wide sea. So lonely god himself scarce seemed there to be. To walk together to the kirk with a goodly company and all together to pray. The Mariner, who’s eye is bright, who’s beard with age is hoar, and now the wedding guest turned from the bridegrooms door. He went like one that hath been stunned, and in sense of forlorn, a sadder and wiser man, he rose the morrow morn.
The rime of the ancient mariner part the sixth summary
Ancient mariner heard something from the back of his head ‘ But tell me, tell me, speak again, thy soft response renewing, what makes the ship drive on so fast, what is the ocean doing?’. Ancient mariner was very confused, Voices and voices arriving in his head. He then questioned how but why is the ship moving so fast with no wave or wind, a plain silent sea. The ship still and still kept moving with no wave and no wind, it was a miracle he thought. The next morning, he woke up, and saw all the dead bodies working the ship like they used to before.
The curse had made all them men die, and now everything is starting to change, everyone is doing their job as a team. Then the cursed was snapped, he viewed the ocean green and dark again, and then it viewed back to the calm and peaceful ocean. But sooner later he felt a wind breathing on him, no sound or motion made. It was a path in ripple or in shade. It raised his hair, and fanned his cheek, and it felt like a welcoming. Peacefully and calmly flew the ship, on its way it drove. He could finally pray and he said ‘O let me be awake, my god or let me sleep away.
The moon rising up from the red orange sunset, and on the bay the moonlight lay, and the shadow of the moon. he looked around and each waved their hand to ancient mariner. he heard the pilots cheer, and suddenly a boat did appear. This could be that time where he sets free.
summary of the ancient mariner part the fifth
Ancient mariner suddenly dreamt about the buckets on the deck filled with dew, and then he woke up, and when he woke up it had rained. His throat was almost as if frozen, and his body was drank. In the distance he heard a roaring wind but it didn’t come any near. The sound shook the sea and ship. He saw in the distance one lonely black cloud in the corner pouring rain. Loud lightning strucking the lonely cloud. The loud roaring wind covered the ocean but still never reached the ship.
The dead men on the ship did groan, a noise which spread everything across the ocean. They groaned for longer, and suddenly they stirred, and they all up rose. None of them moved an eye, it had been strange for the ancient mariner even for a dream. he was confused to see dead men rise again as if they hadn’t been dead before. in front of his eyes his brother rose up, knee to knee, and helped him to hold the rope. All the dead men began to try and stir the ship like they usually all did.
Suddenly ancient mariner began to feel something moving the ship softly and smoothly forward coming from the beneath, he thought he it was a spirit. the sun caught his attention when he looked away the ship was moving in a consistent smooth pace. However he felt the ship moving forward and backwards aggressively. Suddenly it made a sudden pound ancient mariner banged his head on the ship wreck and blood flooded his head. The spirit was actually the albatross that the ancient mariner shot with the crossbow.
The 10 lines for poetry by heart:
Day after day , day after day,
we stuck, nor breath nor motion,
as idle as a painted ship,
upon a painted ocean.
the very deep did not, o Christ, that ever should be,
yea, slimy things did crawl with legs,
upon the slimy sea,
about, about in real and rout,
the death fires danced at knight
Ancient Mariner part the fourth summary

The wedding guest quoted ‘ I fear thee, ancient mariner. She was almost as if scared of him. She thought he was the one who killed the crew members. Then she dropt not down. All alone ancient mariner was felling pain, his heart was in agony. many men had lived on the ship, and so did the ancient mariner. he looked to heaven and tried to pray, then something spoke to him, and made his heart dry as dust. he heard his heart thumping loud. He looked around himself and all there were, was dead bodies lying on the floor.
Ancient mariner heard something. Every dead body twitched their eyes and stared at ancient mariner. They looked at him like they’ve never passed away. Ancient mariner could see a course that would drag him to hell, step by step. A spirit from up above in the sky, and every day that passed he would the same curse over and over and over again. In the distance he saw something shining bright in his eyes. A ship, charmed water burnt all away, and covered in awful red.
Beyond the shadow of the ship, bright water snakes drifting over to the ancient mariner, and they fell of in hoary flakes. he described it as the most beautiful thing he has ever seen in his life. A spring of love gently pounced in his heart and blessed him. That moment ancient mariner could finally prey, and then from his neck so free the albatross fell off and sank like a lead under the sea.
Strong metaphor I chose: ‘I looked upon the rotten sea’
I think this metaphor that I chose is strong because it is comparing the sea being disgusting by using the word rotten instead of using the word horrid for example. if you imagine it the word rotten is describing as the sea being green and dark colours.
